Everton's Phil Jagielka: Leighton Baines is like a "sniper"

Everton captain Phil Jagielka believes that Leighton Baines is "a bit like a sniper" when it comes to taking free kicks.

Everton captain Phil Jagielka has hailed Leighton Baines for his performance against West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.

The England international left-back scored two free kicks at Upton Park to help the Toffees to a 3-2 victory.

"It was funny listening to him last week when we got a free kick late on against Chelsea and he overcooked it a little bit and it hit the crossbar," talkSPORT quotes centre-back Jagielka as saying.

"He was disappointed because he knew almost as soon as he kicked it that he had hooked it too much. I thought he was joking but obviously you can see from today he is a bit like a sniper.

"He takes note of the wind, the trajectory and allsorts. The first goal was special but the second one makes it silly."

Everton are currently fifth in the league table, while West Ham are 14th in the standings.
