Lacina Traore's Everton future to be decided after seeing specialists

Roberto Martinez reveals that loan striker Lacina Traore's future will be decided within the next week or so.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that Lacina Traore's future at Goodison Park will be decided within the next week or so.

The Ivorian was pulled out of the Toffees' 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend after suffering a hamstring strain in the warm-up.

The striker signed for the Merseyside outfit from Monaco in January on a loan deal lasting until the end of the season, but the 23-year-old may have to return to France depending on the severity of the injury.

"We have been working closely with Monaco to ensure we get the best possible treatment on the injury," Martinez told the club's official website.

"He will now see two specialists next week - one in London and one in Paris. Then we will make the final decision with the parent club.

"If Lacina will be fit by the end of the season, then we will see him in an Everton shirt again, and that is what we are aiming for."

Meanwhile, Everton are preparing to take on West Ham United on Saturday.
