FA Cup to be called Emirates FA Cup

The Football Association announces a partnership with airline Emirates which will result in the FA Cup being renamed the Emirates FA Cup.

The Football Association has announced that, as of next season, the FA Cup will be renamed the Emirates FA Cup.

The airline has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with the FA to become the lead partner of football's oldest knockout competition.

It is the first time that the Cup has had a brand name included in its title, but FA chairman Greg Dyke insists that it will benefit the game in England.

"All of the money the FA receives goes back to the game at all levels," he said at a press conference announcing the partnership.

"Partnerships like these only improve our ability to support grass-roots football."

The final of the 2014-15 competition takes place at Wembley today between holders Arsenal and Aston Villa, who are appearing in their first final for 15 years.
