Half-Time Report: Champions Juventus leading season finale

Champions Juventus lead 1-0 away at Hellas Verona thanks to a goal from Roberto Pereyra.

A strike from Roberto Pereyra has given Juventus a 1-0 lead at the break of their season-ending Serie A encounter against Hellas Verona this evening.

It was the home side that started the brighter, with an early opening being created for former Juve frontman Luca Toni, but the 38-year-old shot wide.

However, after that, it was largely one-way traffic as the champions created a handful of chances.

The first fell to Claudio Marchisio in the 23rd minute following a Carlos Tevez knockdown, but the Italian midfielder sent his half-volley bouncing over the top.

The visitors went even closer 11 minutes later when Fernando Llorente went for goal, only to see his effort cannon to safety off the crossbar.

The pressure finally told three minutes before the break as Pereyra curled his effort from 25 yards beyond a helpless Rafael in the home goal.
