Kilmarnock have confirmed the signing of defender Kevin McHattie just hours after he left Hearts by mutual consent.
The 22-year-old, who made his Jambos debut in 2011, departed Tynecastle on Monday in search of first-team football.
McHattie, who signed a three-year deal at Rugby Park, told the club's official website: "I am delighted to have signed for Killie and I can't wait to get playing first team football.
"I have worked with [Gary Locke] before and, after I spoke to Dale Carrick, I was certain this was the right move for me.
"There is a big challenge ahead for me and the club and I am looking forward to getting started tomorrow at training."
McHattie made over 80 appearances for Hearts and has featured for Scotland at Under-17 and Under-21 level.
