Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino reveals reason behind Uwe Rosler dismissal

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino says that he sacked head coach Uwe Rosler because the team was playing a style of football that he did not like.

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has revealed that he decided to sack head coach Uwe Rosler because the team was not playing a style of football that he liked.

The German was dismissed on Monday and replaced by former Rotherham United boss Steve Evans, who becomes the sixth head coach during Cellino's time at the Championship club.

Rosler, who was hired in May, has left Leeds in 18th place in the table after winning two of his 11 league games at the helm.

"I watched the game on Saturday and in the second half, we were just trying not to lose. We were not trying to win. That is not good enough," Cellino told The Mirror.

"I wanted them to play heavy rock football but instead it was like country music.

"I did my best to help Uwe, but in the end, I could not see even a patch of blue in the sky, just cloud, cloud and cloud."

Cellino was disqualified by the Football League under its owners' and directors' test just hours after sacking Rosler on Monday.
