Leeds boss Neil Warnock reveals that Robert Snodgrass is on his way out of the club, despite his best efforts to keep the Scotland international.

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock has revealed that Robert Snodgrass is on his way out of the club after the captain expressed his desire to leave.

Snodgrass has been allowed to talk to an unnamed Premier League club, thought to be Norwich City after manager Chris Hughton admitted that he had made an offer for the player.

Warnock claims that he tried everything he could to keep the Scotland international at the club, but Snodgrass had his heart set on playing in the top flight.

"Negotiations have been going on for weeks. I was hoping he would have had a change of heart and I can honestly say that in all my time in football, I've never worked as hard in trying to keep a player," said the former QPR boss.

"He was offered the best contract, the captaincy, and we would have built a team around him, so I am very disappointed. He's made it clear what he wants to do and he's had his head turned. He wants to play in the Premier League.

"He believes his Scotland international career may be better served in the Premier League, but I'm not so sure."

Snodgrass was voted the club's Players' Player of the Season and Fans' Player of the Season in the last campaign.
