Liverpool predicted XI vs. Lille: Possible starting lineup as Arne Slot faces Ibrahima Konate decision

Will Slot risk Konate? How Reds could line up in Champions League clash

Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Lille at Anfield.

Liverpool will welcome Lille to Anfield on Tuesday in the Champions League, and boss Arne Slot will want to ensure he selects a strong enough team to avoid defeat given one more point will see the Reds qualify automatically for the round of 16.

Though there have been some question marks about Alisson Becker's form since returning to injury, though he was back to his best against Brentford last Saturday, and Slot will not risk dropping his first-choice goalkeeper.

Centre-back Joe Gomez is certain to miss out as a result of a hamstring injury, though he is the team's only confirmed injury absentee.

Slot has shown a reluctance to use Jarell Quansah this season - he substituted the central defender at half time in Liverpool's first game of 2024-25 against Ipswich Town - and this could mean that Wataru Endo may start in defence in order to preserve Ibrahima Konate's fitness.

In midfield, Ryan Gravenberch has performed exceptionally well in a somewhat unfamiliar role, but he has looked exhausted in his side's recent outings.

The Reds manager has not appeared keen to rotate his midfield group too much this term, so perhaps fans can expect to see the Dutchman start the match but come off for the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai later in the game.

Curtis Jones could be given a start in Liverpool's double pivot in order to accommodate Harvey Elliott in the team's number 10 position following his strong cameo against Brentford.

Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz may have to battle for the starting role as Slot's striker, though Diogo Jota is a doubt after picking up a knock earlier last week.

Mohamed Salah rarely needs a break from football, while Federico Chiesa could be in line for his first start in the Champions League for Liverpool.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Endo, Van Dijk, Robertson; Jones, Gravenberch; Salah, Elliott, Chiesa; Diaz
