Arsenal injury, suspension list and return dates for Dinamo Zagreb, Saliba, Calafiori, Nwaneri

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb.

Taking a welcome break from their Premier League duties, Arsenal can take a huge step towards Champions League last-16 qualification in Wednesday's home showdown with Dinamo Zagreb.

The Gunners only trail perfect Liverpool and Barcelona in the 36-team league phase table and should be virtually assured of a top-eight finish by beating their Croatian foes in midweek.

However, Mikel Arteta's men are reeling from their latest Premier League collapse, throwing away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Aston Villa on Saturday evening, prior to which they were handed a devastating new selection blow.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Dinamo Zagreb, who currently occupy the final playoff place in 24th spot.

William Saliba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: January 29 (vs. Girona)

After suffering a hamstring injury in the recent North London derby win over Tottenham Hotspur, William Saliba was an unexpected absentee from the squad to take on Villa. Arteta conceded that he was worried about the Frenchman at full time, but he is not believed to have sustained a serious issue and should be back before the end of the month.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

In contrast, Gabriel Jesus is set for months on the treatment table due to his ACL injury, one that will certainly rule him out for the rest of this season and potentially the start of next term too.

Ethan Nwaneri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: February 2 (vs. Manchester City)

Ethan Nwaneri is facing another couple of weeks out with the muscular issue he sustained against Brighton & Hove Albion, but a comeback against Manchester City next month has not been ruled out.

Bukayo Saka

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 1 (vs. Fulham)

Bukayo Saka is currently on the long road to recovery from the hamstring tear he suffered in December, and there is virtually no chance of the English attacker returning to action before the end of March.

Riccardo Calafiori

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: January 22 (vs. Dinamo Zagreb)

Riccardo Calafiori has now been absent from Arsenal's last three matches with a muscular injury, one that Arteta has been loath to discuss in detail, so it is unclear whether he will be passed fit for the midweek game.

Ben White

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 29 (vs. Girona)

At the start of January, Arteta did not rule Ben White out of a comeback from knee surgery before the end of the month, but Wednesday's contest will certainly come too soon for him.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Takehiro Tomiyasu is slowly rebuilding strength in his knee after another serious injury, but he is understandably being carefully managed and will not return to action just yet.
