Mohamed Salah becomes the quickest player to reach 100 top-flight goals for Liverpool with his strike in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Brentford.

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has broken a Reds record with his goal in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Brentford in the Premier League.

The Egypt international had already witnessed Ethan Pinnock and Diogo Jota find the back of the net at the Brentford Community Stadium before his finish - which was initially ruled out for offside.

After a review, Salah's goal was ultimately awarded as he notched up his 100th top-flight strike for Anfield giants, which he has achieved in the quickest time in the club's history books.

The former Chelsea and Roma man has taken just 151 top-flight games to hit the 100-goal mark for Liverpool, seeing him break the record previously held by Roger Hunt, who achieved the feat in 152 games.

However, Salah preceded to miss a gilt-edged chance to put the tie to bed in the second half, with Curtis Jones, Vitaly Janelt and Yoane Wissa all netting afterwards in a pulsating 3-3 draw.

The 29-year-old nevertheless scored for the fourth Premier League game running and now boasts a total of 130 strikes in 209 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions.
