Newcastle United are reportedly preparing to make a £25m offer for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos.
The Magpies are expected to spend heavily in 2022, having seen a Saudi-led takeover go through, and a number of players have been linked with moves to the club over the last few weeks.
According to El Nacional, Newcastle are keen to bring Kroos to the club either in January or during next summer's transfer window, and a £25m offer for the Germany international is being prepared.
The 31-year-old remains a key player for Los Blancos, but he has been restricted to just five appearances in all competitions during the 2021-22 campaign due to injury.
Liverpool and Manchester City have both recently been credited with an interest in the midfielder, who could be allowed to leave Los Blancos next year as part of a midfield rebuild at the Bernabeu.
Kroos has scored 22 goals and registered 80 assists in 325 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions, winning two La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns in the process.
