Lyon kicked off their Ligue 1 campaign with a goalless draw against Lorient at the Stade de Gerland this evening.
OL's best chance of the first half came when Nabil Fekir's poked effort came back off Benjamin Lecomte's left post.

The FCL keeper saved Alexandre Lacazette's follow-up and the French international striker immediately headed goalwards, only for Lecomte to tip the ball onto the frame of the goal again.
Les Merlus almost found a breakthrough of their own later in the opening half as Raphael Guerreiro, who has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, rounded Anthony Lopes and his shot seemed destined for the back of the net before Samuel Umtiti's glancing header diverted it onto the crossbar.
On the stroke of half time, new signing Claudio Beauvue missed the chance to open his Lyon account as the former Guingamp man failed to hit the target from a free kick.
The hosts continued to enjoy possession, but were struggling to make their advantage count, with Fekir firing over just before the hour mark.
Fekir threatened again soon after as he was afforded space to shoot on the right-hand side of Lorient's area, but his strike was just wide of goal, with Lecomte rooted to the spot.
Lyon's frustrating evening worsened when, after making all three substitutions, Lacazette was forced off with an injury in the dying stages as OL were forced to settle for a point.
