Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Champions Manchester City take on Brighton & Hove Albion looking to gain their first home victory of the season, having drawn 2-2 with Tottenham a fortnight ago.

Pep Guardiola's Sky Blues have swept West Ham and Bournemouth aside on the road, however, with Raheem Sterling in the goalscoring form of his life.

City have not lost at home since December 2018, when Brighton's fierce rivals Crystal Palace shocked the home crowd with a stunning 3-2 victory.

Graham Potter has had a mixed start to life on the South coast, having won one, drawn one and lost one since taking over at the Amex. Anything other than a defeat in this match would be a huge bonus for the Seagulls.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for the champions of England.

Benjamin Mendy

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Norwich City)

Ex-Monaco full-back Benjamin Mendy has suffered an injury-plagued spell at the Etihad, and will not be available until after the international break. The primary aim is to get the Frenchman fit again after he missed pre-season with a knee injury.

Leroy Sane

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: February 29 (vs. Arsenal)

Leroy Sane looked set for a summer switch to German giants Bayern Munich, before an anterior cruciate ligament injury ruled him out for at least six months. The 23-year-old will not feature until 2020.

John Stones

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Quadriceps
Possible return date: Unknown

England international John Stones featured in City's season opener against West Ham United, but has been missing ever since with a thigh injury. The 25-year-old does, however, stand a chance of returning for the clash with Brighton.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh injury
Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Norwich City)

Gabriel Jesus missed last week's 3-1 win at Bournemouth with a hamstring injury picked up in training that will again rule him out against Brighton. The Brazilian had made a promising start to the season after scoring against West Ham and being cruelly denied by VAR against Tottenham Hotspur.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no players suspended for this match.
