Jamie Redknapp: Manchester City were "shambolic" in Burnley defeat

Jamie Redknapp labels Manchester City's performance in their defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor as "shambolic" as they missed out on the chance to close ground on Chelsea.

Jamie Redknapp has slammed the performance of Manchester City in their 1-0 defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor.

Manuel Pellegrini's side lost out on the chance to close ground on Chelsea in the title race as George Boyd fired the Clarets to victory with his strike in the 61st minute.

Redknapp feels that Pellegrini and his players should be "embarrassed" by their display as they slumped to their third defeat in their last four outings in all competitions.

"City were shambolic, I'm so disappointed in them," the former Liverpool midfielder told Sky Sports News. "That's the sort of performance that gets managers the sack.

"Everyone will be talking about Manuel Pellegrini but the players should be embarrassed with how they played today to a man, it was such a poor performance."

City are five points behind leaders Chelsea, but Blues have two games in hand on the Citizens.
