Barcelona are reportedly primed to reach a pre-contract agreement for Manchester City defender Eric Garcia next month.
With the Spaniard's contract at the Etihad set to expire in six months' time, Garcia is free to negotiate with other clubs from the start of January.
Barcelona attempted to bring the centre-back to Catalonia in the summer but could not agree a fee with the Citizens, although the La Liga giants did receive a boost a couple of months ago with Pep Guardiola admitting that Garcia wants to leave when his contract is up.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are set to reignite their interest in Garcia and attempt to reach a pre-contract agreement with the 19-year-old in January.
With Barcelona struggling to finance transfers in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the Catalan giants are reportedly happy to wait another six months in order to sign Garcia on a free despite Gerard Pique's long-term injury.
Garcia himself is currently sidelined with a muscular problem, and the teenager has spent three years in Manchester since leaving Barcelona's youth setup.
