Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is reportedly learning French amid interest from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentine, who has also been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, is able to speak with other European clubs as his contract expires in less than six months' time.
Messi is yet to confirm whether he is willing to stay at the Catalan club beyond the summer, but Canal+ reports that the 33-year-old and his family are taking French language lessons.
Barcelona are desperate to keep hold of their star player, however the Spanish giants are in deep financial turmoil as the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic have badly damaged the club, who were unable to pay their first-team players in December and have debts totalling over £1bn.
This could mean that Barca may struggle to table a new contract offer to keep the six-time Ballon d'Or winner at the club beyond this season.
Messi, who has spent nearly 17 years with the Catalan club, surpassed Pele's record for most goals scored at a single club when he found the back of the net for the 644th time against Real Valladolid in December.
