AC Milan to beat Manchester City to Juan Sebastian Sforza?

AC Milan are currently beating Manchester City in the race to sign Newell's Old Boys youngster Juan Sebastian Sforza, according to a representative of the player.

A representative of Newell's Old Boys youngster Juan Sebastian Sforza has suggested that AC Milan are winning the race to sign the prospect.

Sforza has emerged as one of the most highly-regarded talents in South America, and it has led to widespread interest in the 17-year-old's signature.

Manchester City have been linked with a move for the teenager, but Camillo Autieri has indicated that Milan are currently favourites to complete a deal.

Autieri is quoted by Milannews.it as saying: "The meeting with the Rossoneri happened a couple of weeks ago, directly with Leonardo at Casa Milan. Milan is ahead of the other club because they were the first that showed interest in the boy.

"It would be an operation that would fully fit into the new policy because they would sign an interesting prospect which could be included in the Primavera next year.

"The operation would cost €1.5m. Last year Newell's Old Boys demanded €2m but the deal could safely be closed at €1.5m by inserting a percentage of the future resale in favour of the Argentinians."

Sforza has represented Argentina at Under-17 level.
