Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes that midfielder Marouane Fellaini was "unfortunate" to have been sent off in last night's Champions League match against Real Sociedad.
The Belgium international was sent packing in added time of United's goalless draw in Spain for a second bookable offence.
"Felli won a lot of balls in midfield and was maybe a little bit unfortunate with the sending off," Ferdinand told MUTV. "I think he only made three or four tackles in the whole game but that is what happens in Europe sometimes."
Despite failing to grab maximum points, United remain at the top of Group A.
