Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has revealed that Fred, Eric Bailly and Nemanja Matic will be absent against Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Fred recently tested positive for COVID-19 and remains unavailable for selection, while Bailly has been absent since returning from international duty with an ankle problem.
Experienced midfielder Matic has also been ruled out against the Saints due to a shin injury, but Rangnick has said that Alex Telles could be back in the squad, having recovered from COVID-19.
"Alex resumed training yesterday. He might be available, I'll have to speak to him after training today about how he feels because he was out for one and a half, almost two weeks but he took part in training yesterday," Ralf told club media.
"The three players who will not be available tomorrow are still Eric Bailly, Fred, obviously because he was still testing positive, and Nemanja Matic. He has some problems with his shin.
"He has been having these problems for the last couple of days, almost a week. He was still available, but he couldn't train for the last two training sessions and he also won't be training today. Those are the three players that are not available for the game tomorrow."
Man United will be bidding to return to winning ways in the league this weekend, having been held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday night.
