Manchester United's Luke Shaw closing in on return to training

Reports claim that Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is nearing a return to training following his recovery from a broken leg.

Luke Shaw could reportedly resume training with his Manchester United teammates as early as next week.

The 20-year-old has not played since September because of the broken leg that he sustained in a challenge with PSV Eindhoven's Hector Moreno.

Initial speculation claimed that the England left-back would not play again this season, as well as miss the upcoming European Championships in France.

However, both The Telegraph and the Manchester Evening News have claimed that Shaw's rehabilitation has progressed well and following a trip to Dubai, he is now in contention to return to training within the next seven to ten days.

"Nice time in Dubai, back to work now. Can't wait," he wrote on Twitter yesterday.

Shaw joined United for a reported £30m in the summer of 2014 and he has since made 28 appearances in all competitions.
