Chris Smalling has said that he is relishing the role of "bully" in the Manchester United defence this season.
The 25-year-old has partnered Daley Blind in central defence this season and thinks that they are building a good relationship together.
"I have always liked that competition with the striker and obviously Daley is not that sort of centre-back who is going to dominate so it's a case of I take that mantle on and I am enjoying it," Smalling told reporters.
"I feel like I bullied quite a few players in matches in the past but hopefully I can get the consistency where it can be on show every week now.
"I feel like I am playing well and I am enjoying my football. I feel comfortable playing with Daley. It is good to keep playing each game knowing that there are not too many changes at the moment because we are doing well."
Smalling has made 103 appearances for the Red Devils since joining in 2010.
