David Moyes denies Sir Alex Ferguson having negative effect on his management

Manchester United manager David Moyes insists that Sir Alex Ferguson has not been a negative effect on his management this season.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has insisted that Sir Alex Ferguson is not having a detrimental effect on his management due to his presence at the club.

Former United captain Roy Keane claimed earlier this week that the 71-year-old, who retired from management in the summer after 27 illustrious years at Old Trafford, still wants control at the club.

Moyes has stated that his fellow Scotsman has been nothing but helpful in his role of director.

"[During] my time here Sir Alex has been fantastic towards me," Moyes said in a press conference. "Any time I need something I can go to him - he's been very, very good."

United are currently ninth in the Premier League table having taken 22 points from 15 games.
