Sofyan Amrabat opens up on his pride at representing Manchester United, having completed a loan move to the club from Fiorentina.

Sofyan Amrabat has opened up on his pride at representing Manchester United, with the midfielder completing a loan switch to the Red Devils from Fiorentina on transfer deadline day.

The Morocco international's future was the subject of speculation throughout the summer, and he finally secured a move to Old Trafford just hours before the September deadline.

Amrabat has become the first Moroccan to make the move to the 20-time English champions, and he could debut for his new side against Brighton & Hove Albion after the international break.

"I'm very proud," he told the club's official media. "I think already a lot of Moroccans have followed already United, but now [there will be] a lot of extra million fans from Morocco.

"And they are so, so proud. I hope that I can make the fans for United and also them very, very happy and proud.

"I think United had so many fantastic players and young midfielders. So, in general, I look more to the midfielders like Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, David Beckham.

"But there were so many big players. Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Louis Saha, Wayne Rooney, [Cristiano] Ronaldo. I can go on for one hour to say names.

"Of course, [my brother and I] spoke about it. He told me that he thinks that I have to go to the Premier League, it is the strongest league in the world. So now I'm here, I can't wait."

Amrabat also opened up on the chance to reunite with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag, who managed the midfielder at Utrecht in the early stages of his career.

"It was very important because I was very young. I was 18, 19 years old and he gave me the chance to play in the first team with Utrecht.

"We had a fantastic time, a really good season. I learned a lot from him. So maybe he's one of the most important people in my career for now.

"It's fantastic because I think Erik ten Hag is a coach who will push always to the limit. He's hungry. He wants to win. He's a winner and I like that. I think I'm also similar, I'm also a winner. I want to win every day so it's a good match.

"I don't like to speak about myself. I want to show it on the pitch, but I can promise that I will give my best with everything; every day, every minute, every second. So, it is the only thing that I can say now."

Man United are said to be paying Fiorentina £8.5m to loan Amrabat for the season, but the move includes the option to make the move permanent next summer for around £17.1m plus £4.3m in add-ons.
