Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly questioning his long-term future with the club following interest in the January transfer window.

Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly 'questioning' his long-term future with the club.

The Argentina international was heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the winter transfer window.

Napoli were understood to have failed with a £40m offer, while Chelsea were also believed to be interested in securing his services.

Garnacho may have stayed put following the end of the transfer window, but there is still considerable doubt surrounding his future with the 20-time English champions.

Garnacho questioning Man United future

According to Football Insider, Garnacho is questioning his long-term future despite having a contract until the summer of 2028.

The report claims that the Argentine will consider his options before making a decision over his future in the summer transfer window.

Garnacho has been in and out of the Man United side in recent times, having started four of his last 10 Premier League appearances.

The winger made three consecutive top-flight starts before he dropped to the bench for Saturday's 2-2 draw against Everton at Goodison Park.

Garnacho has struggled to produce his best form in Man United's difficult Premier League campaign, mustering three goals and one assist in 25 top-flight matches, with the most recent of those goal contributions coming against Leicester City in November.

How do Man United feel about Garnacho's future?

From Man United's perspective, they appear to be considering the attacker's future amid concerns over whether he is suited to Ruben Amorim's 3-4-3 system.

A recent report claimed that the Red Devils are willing to listen to offers for the 20-year-old in the summer transfer window.

Man United's stance also takes into account the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules, with the Red Devils looking to find solutions to meet the regulations.

As an academy product, Garnacho's potential sale would improve Man United's financial situation because it would be counted as pure profit.

In the short term, he will look to force his way back into the starting lineup for Wednesday's Premier League home clash against Ipswich Town.
