Agent: Edinson Cavani "happy" at Paris Saint-Germain

Edinson Cavani's agent hints that the striker's long-term stay at Paris Saint-Germain is largely dependant on whether he starts up front or out wide next season.

The agent of Edinson Cavani has suggested that the striker has no intention of leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Manchester United were among those reportedly keen to lure the Uruguayan away from the Parc des Princes.

Cavani's representative, Walter Guglielmone, admits that interest has indeed been shown in the 28-year-old from elsewhere, but he intends to stay in the French capital in order to nail down a regular starting spot through the middle.

"This summer, Edi has received interest from big clubs who are looking for a centre-forward," Guglielmone told Journal du Dimanche. "But he has not listened to them because the end of last season gave him guarantees in terms of his position.

"We think that [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic will play further and further away from the front line in order to touch the ball more and that he will leave the striker position to Edinson, which happened several times at the end of last season. In these conditions, Edi can but only be happy at PSG."

Cavani, fielded largely in a wide position last season, is thought to be valued at around £60m by the Ligue 1 champions.
