Toby Alderweireld has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur will make the final decision regarding his future at the club.
Since dropping out of the starting lineup, Alderweireld has been linked with a move away from Spurs and Manchester United have been strongly linked with an approach for the Belgium international.
However, Alderweireld has indicated that he and the North London outfit have different ideas regarding where he will play his football next season.
The 29-year-old told Dezondag: "I have another two years contract. Tottenham decides about my future. Of course I have my own idea. But that is not the case now.
"The past season was tough, but I'm glad that I could play the last four matches. That means that I am ready for the World Cup."
If Spurs trigger an extra 12 months on Alderweireld's deal, taking it to 2020, the former Atletico Madrid man would become available for £25m at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
