Joshua Kimmich delivers an update on his contract situation at Bayern Munich amid reported interest from several clubs including Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.

Joshua Kimmich has insisted that the ball is in Bayern Munich's court over talks for a contract extension and the German is planning to make a decision on his future before the international break.

The 30-year-old has been an integral first-team player for the Bavarian giants since joining the club from RB Leipzig in 2015, contributing with 43 goals and 114 assists in 427 appearances across all competitions.

Kimmich, who has registered 10 assists in 37 games so far this season, has won a total of 20 trophies with Bayern and is hoping to end the current campaign on a high by lifting a ninth Bundesliga title and a second Champions League trophy.

The versatile midfielder has featured regularly under Vincent Kompany this term, but speculation over his future at the Allianz Arena is rife as he has less than four months remaining on his Bayern contract.

While it remains possible that Kimmich extends his stay at Bayern, a host of top European clubs have been credited with an interest in the German and Bild reports that Paris Saint-Germain have tabled a 'concrete offer' to sign him in the summer.

Kimmich: "A decision will definitely be made soon"

Arsenal are also understood to hold an interest in Kimmich, although Bild claims that the Gunners are currently not making any concrete efforts to sign him, with the 'alleged lead' to the North London club 'currently not hot'.

Fellow Premier League sides Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have also been linked with Kimmich, as have La Liga giants Barcelona.

Kimmich played the full 90 minutes in Bayern's comfortable 3-0 home win over Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday night, and the midfielder commented on his future after the match.

"Other clubs also play a role in my decision on the future. I won't mention which clubs, but there will be a decision soon," Kimmich told Bild. "A decision will definitely be made soon. The ball is not in my court."

Kimmich added: "It's not about squeezing out the last euro. I know that (director of sport) Max [Eberl] is very honest and is fighting. I really appreciate that. I also don't have the impression that I'm totally greedy. It's not about squeezing out the last euro. Max knows that. We had very good talks.

Kimmich to announce decision on Bayern future before international break

"My plan was to make my decision before the international break. The club didn't want that, which is legitimate. I appreciate that they gave me a lot of time. It was important to get off to a good start this season after a difficult last season and build a relationship with each other again.

"The club now wanted to have a decision before the two games against Leverkusen. For me the injury complicated things a bit, without going into details, but there will be a decision soon.

"I don't know if it will be between both legs [against Leverkusen], but it will definitely be before the international break at the latest."

Eberl recently issued an update from his side on negotiations with Kimmich, telling Bild: "As has often been said and confirmed, the discussions were and are respectful and appreciative. However, everyone also feels that a decision should be made soon."

Bayern will take on VfL Bochum and Union Berlin in the Bundesliga either side of their second-leg tie with Leverkusen in the Champions League before the international break begins in just over a weeks' time.
