Chelsea to offer Cesc Fabregas new deal to warn off Manchester United?

Chelsea are reportedly keen to offer Cesc Fabregas a new deal in order to fight off interest from Manchester United.

Chelsea are reportedly keen to tie Cesc Fabregas down to a new deal in order to fend off interest from Manchester United.

The Spaniard played a bit-part role under manager Antonio Conte last season, starting just 13 Premier League games.

In the current campaign, Fabregas has started all but two of the Blues' top-flight fixtures and has scored a goal and registered one assist in the process.

According to The Times, United manager Jose Mourinho is keen on a reunion with the midfielder, whom he signed for Chelsea in 2014, and because of this, the West London outfit are keen to hand a contract extension to the Spaniard.

The report claims that the Blues intend to table a one-year deal, but Fabregas is keen for the length of contract to be two years.

Rumours have emerged that Mourinho will swoop for the ex-Barcelona star if he fails to land Mesut Ozil from Arsenal.
