Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly still in talks with Sporting Lisbon over a possible move.
The Portugal international has been the centre of transfer speculation since indicating that he wishes to depart Old Trafford this summer.
Ronaldo has also missed United's tour of Thailand and Australia due to family reasons before arriving in Manchester at the beginning of the week to hold talks over his future.
Mendes has been attempting to find potential destinations for his client, with the likes of Bayern Munich, Napoli and Atletico Madrid linked with the 37-year-old.
A potential return to Ronaldo's boyhood club has also been rumoured, and according to The Mirror, Mendes remains in talks with the Portuguese club about a possible move.
While the transfer could open up commercial benefits, Sporting head coach Ruben Amorim has concerns that Ronaldo could affect the dynamic in the squad.
The report also suggests that the Lions would find it tough to finance a return for their academy product who left the club in 2003 to join United.
