Liverpool, Manchester United 'make Sergio Ramos contact'

Liverpool and Manchester United make contact with Sergio Ramos's representatives to discuss a move for the Real Madrid captain, according to a report.

Liverpool and Manchester United have reportedly both contacted Sergio Ramos's representatives amid suggestions that the centre-back could leave Real Madrid this summer.

Ramos is said to be considering walking away from Los Blancos after 14 years with the club.

Indeed, the 33-year-old is still believed to be unhappy with how club president Florentino Perez dealt with the defeat to Ajax in the Champions League, while the team's struggles this season have not improved the defender's mood.

According to AS, both Liverpool and United have been in contact with Ramos's representatives to ascertain whether a deal is possible in this summer's transfer window.

Ramos was strongly linked with a move to United in 2015 before penning a new deal, which is due to expire at the end of the 2020-21 season.

Madrid's captain missed the latter stages of the 2018-19 campaign with a calf problem although he is expected to be back for Spain's two international fixtures in June.

Ramos has made 606 appearances for Los Blancos since a 2005 switch from Sevilla, which places him fifth on the all-time list behind Raul, Iker Casillas, Manuel Sanchis and Santillana.
