Barcelona reportedly rejected an £85m bid from Manchester United for the signature of teenage starlet Ansu Fati in the summer of 2020.

Barcelona reportedly turned down an £85m offer from Manchester United for Ansu Fati in the summer of 2020.

The 18-year-old burst onto the scene in the 2019-20 campaign with the Blaugrana, netting seven goals in 24 La Liga appearances before continuing his flying start in the early stages of the 2020-21 season.

Fati banked five goals and four assists from 10 appearances in all competitions last year before suffering a serious knee injury - one which has kept him sidelined for the past 10 months.

The teenager's form in the 2019-20 season supposedly led to interest from Man United, with AS claiming that the Red Devils tabled an £85m bid for his services while they were also attempting to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

However, Barcelona are said to have swiftly rejected that proposal, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side instead striking a £73m deal for Sancho in the summer of 2021.

Fati's existing Barcelona deal is due to expire next summer, but the Blaugrana are reportedly confident of convincing the four-cap Spain international to agree to fresh terms.
