Manchester United have reportedly retained their interest in signing Leicester City midfielder James Maddison.
Since the beginning of the January transfer window, United have been attempting to secure a deal for Bruno Fernandes, only to reach an impasse with Sporting Lisbon regarding a fee.
However, despite their prolonged interest in the Portugal international, The Independent says that United still intend to target Maddison later in 2020.
Having helped Leicester open up a 14-point cushion in the race for a Champions League spot, the playmaker is expected to receive offers to leave the King Power Stadium in the summer.
The Foxes are likely to demand in the region of £80m for the Englishman, who has contributed six goals and three assists in the Premier League this season.
With Maddison having been a boyhood United fan, the North-West outfit are hopeful that will play into their favour during negotiations.
