Manchester United have identified Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as a transfer target, according to a report.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's priority in the January transfer window will be to bolster his midfield options, with West Ham United's Declan Rice a long-term target in that area.
However, the Hammers want more than £100m for the England international and are set to reject all bids for him as they look to secure his future at the London Stadium.
According to The Express, this means that Man United could turn to Tchouameni, whose price tag is considerably lower than Rice's.
The 21-year-old has been valued at between £38.4m and £42.7m, with Chelsea also reportedly interested in taking him to the Premier League.
Tchouameni has made 20 appearances for Monaco in all competitions this season and made his senior international debut for France in September.
