Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with free agent striker Edinson Cavani over a move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have been left frustrated in their summer-long pursuit of a new attacker, with a deal for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho so far failing to materialise.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is supposedly desperate to bring in a new player of some sort to bolster his ranks on the back of an underwhelming start to the 2020-21 campaign.
According to the Daily Mail, focus has now shifted to Cavani, who has been without a club since leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his deal in June.
During his time at the Parc des Princes, Cavani scored 200 times in 301 appearances to become the club's all-time leading goalscorer.
The 33-year-old, previously linked with a switch to Real Madrid, is said to be open to joining a Premier League side.
