Manchester United have reportedly made it clear to interested teams that they value Jonny Evans at £12m.
Evans slipped down the pecking order in Louis van Gaal's first campaign in charge, and the partnership of Chris Smalling and Daley Blind has started the new Premier League season with three successive clean sheets.
The competition for places is likely to limit the opportunities on offer to Evans, who has been linked with Everton and West Bromwich Albion in recent weeks.
According to the Daily Star, United are reluctant to lower their asking price but their valuation has come as a shock to the 27-year-old.
Evans has just one year remaining on his current deal.
