Marseille coach Elie Baup has insisted that his side will "fight until the end" to win Ligue 1 this season.
The former French champions defeated Nice 1-0 away from home on Sunday to move up to second in the table, seven points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
"It was a difficult match," he told reporters. "We could have scored a second goal to make the points safe as it wasn't easy to resist the Nice push. I know my side, which has a lot of qualities. People often point the finger at us and say our play isn't always perfect.
"We've still got eight matches to play and we'll have to fight until the end. There'll be tense matches like this one and we'll need to keep fighting. Beating a direct rival like Nice wasn't easy but it was necessary.
"We defended well in order to hold on to our advantage. We rediscovered our defensive solidity, especially from set pieces and that augurs well for the remaining matches."
Lyon are a point behind Marseille in third place in the table.
