Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain has admitted that it was vital for Napoli to open their Champions League account with a home win.
Higuain, who netted the first goal for his side in the 29th minute, said that beating strong opponents in Borussia Dortmund got their campaign off to the perfect start in what is a tough group.
"I'm delighted, to score a goal like that in front of our home fans is fantastic," UEFA.com quotes Higuain as saying.
"It was a very important game for us against very strong opponents, and It was crucial to start with a win and we're delighted to have managed it. This is a very difficult group, but we've started off on the right foot."
Lorenzo Insigne scored Napoli's second on the night before Juan Zuniga put through his own net late on.
