Walter Mazzarri admits that he was "worried" when Napoli went into the half-time interval locked at 0-0 with Pescara on Saturday.

Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri has admitted that he was "worried" when his side failed to score in the first half of their Serie A clash against Pescara on Saturday.

Gokhan Inler, Goran Pandev and Blerim Dzemaili all scored in the second half for the Naples outfit as they won 3-0 at the Stadio Adriatico.

"It is fundamental to break the deadlock in these games and I was worried, because I had put a lot of effort into firing the players up," Mazzarri told reporters. "The reaction of my men convinced me and I was able to relax.

"[Edinson] Cavani is our hitman, so it's normal that we'd miss him, but the team now has such a defined sense of what to do that it can manage without any of the top players. Maybe with him on the field we would've scored earlier."

Napoli are currently second in the league table with 69 points from 34 matches.
