Half-Time Report: St Jonhstone lead Partick Thistle courtesy of Stevie May's goal

St Johnstone lead Partick Thistle at the break courtesy of Stevie May's goal.

Stevie May's goal is the difference between St Johnstone and Partick Thistle at the interval of their Scottish Premiership encounter.

It's been a game of little chances at Firhill Stadium, with the first opportunity falling to Partick Cregg, whose shot was tipped over the bar by Paul Gallacher in the Thistle goal.

Moments later, May found space in the Jags penalty area and slotted his effort past Gallacher to give the Saints the lead.

The hosts, who are searching for their first home league win of the season, looked to reply through Kallum Higginbotham's curling strike on the half-hour mark, though the ball failed to trouble Steve Banks.

Loanee Chris Erksine also came close to levelling the contest, but fired his chance just over the bar on the brink of half time.
