Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton has taken Luis Boa Morte and Akos Buzsaky on trial at Fratton Park.
Boa Morte had been playing Major League Soccer, but the former Portuguese international is looking to earn a contract with the League One outfit.
The 35-year-old played for Arsenal, Fulham and West Ham United during a prolonged spell in the Premier League.
Hungarian international Buzsaky has been linked with a number of English clubs since leaving Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season.
Buzsaky had been close to a move to Nottingham Forest earlier this summer, but could now earn a deal on the South coast.
