Unai Emery: 'Hatem Ben Arfa has to work hard'

Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery tells Hatem Ben Arfa to "work to improve himself" in order to secure a regular role with the French champions.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery has warned Hatem Ben Arfa that he must "work to improve himself" in order to secure a regular role with the French champions.

Ben Arfa joined PSG on a free transfer in the summer off the back of scoring 18 times in 37 appearances for Nice last season.

The 28-year-old has already scored once in three appearances for the French champions this campaign, but Emery has said that the attacker's transition in Paris will be 'a process'.

"He needs to work to improve himself so that if he plays a good minutes, he can play 20 minutes the next time and so on," Emery told RMC. "This is the process. He has to work hard and have the right mentality."

Ben Arfa has previously represented Lyon, Marseille, Newcastle United and Hull City during a well-travelled career.
