Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Ander Herrera has left the club to join Athletic Bilbao on a permanent deal.
The 33-year-old joined the Basque outfit on loan at the start of the 2022-23 campaign, and he has registered one assist in 11 games for Athletic since.
The La Liga outfit possessed the option to make Herrera's move from PSG permanent, with the Spaniard only under contract at the Parc des Princes until the end of the 2023-24 season.
Despite only starting four La Liga games for Athletic so far this term, Herrera has now left PSG for good to sign for Ernesto Valverde's team on a permanent basis.
The midfielder leaves PSG having scored six goals and set up six more in 95 appearances for Les Parisiens since arriving on a free transfer from Manchester United in the summer of 2019.
Herrera won two La Liga titles, two Coupe de France titles, two Trophee des Champions crowns and one Coupe de la Ligue with PSG, who overhauled their midfield last summer with the signings of Renato Sanches, Carlos Soler, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz.
