Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has said that he is delighted to add Wally Downes to his backroom staff.
The former Brentford manager has joined the club to replace Steve McClaren, who left his coaching role at Loftus Road to become Derby County head coach last month.
Redknapp, whose side face McClaren's Derby on Saturday, has said that Downes is an experienced coach.
'I'm pleased to have Wally [Downes] with us," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.
"He's a QPR man and a top coach. He's a character and very experienced. Steve [McClaren] was great for us and I'm sure Wally will be too.
"It was great to have Steve with us. He's another top coach. I was very impressed with him in his time here."
Downes was previously part of Sam Allardyce's staff at West Ham United.
