Ally McCoist hails 'excellent' Rangers following Raith Rovers rout

Rangers boss Ally McCoist says that his players were "excellent" during their win over Raith Rovers.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has lavished praise on his players following their 4-0 demolition of Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship.

Nicky Clark, Ian Black, Nicky Law and a penalty from Lee McCulloch fired the Gers to the top of the table, with the Glasgow outfit having played one game more than second-placed Hearts.

"All of my management team thought the boys were excellent from start to finish tonight," McCoist told the club's website. "We scored some terrific goals and it could have been a lot more.

"Defensively was one of the things that pleased me more than anything, we were really solid and I thought that both centre-backs in McCulloch and Mohsni were leading by example and defending really well.

"Our two full-backs made up the four and we played from there. I think that everyone in the team benefited from having that solid back four."

Hearts can reclaim the top spot from Rangers if they defeat Dumbarton this afternoon.
