Rangers chief executive Charles Green is remaining confident of a Scottish Premier League stay ahead of the vote that will decide the Ibrox club's fate.

Rangers have been widely expected to drop into Division One, with the club not expected to meet the 8-4 majority required to stay in the SPL.

However, there have reportedly been discussions of a deal with a group of club chairmen that would see Rangers stay in the top flight.

"I know the chairmen will listen. The problem some of them have to a lesser degree than I have here is fan pressure," Green told the club's official website.

"We think the important thing is Scottish football and we need to draw a line and move forward.

"There is now a clearer understanding of the implications of football without Rangers because, remember, this is not just about Rangers not being in the SPL."

The vote to decide Rangers' fate will take place tomorrow.
