Danilo nicks win for Real Madrid in pre-season match against Bayern Munich

Danilo grabs a 1-0 win for Real Madrid in an International Champions Cup match against Bayern Munich in New Jersey.

Carlo Ancelotti's first match against his former club Real Madrid ended in disappointment as Bayern Munich were beaten 1-0 in an International Champions Cup match in New Jersey on Wednesday.

The Italian, who left the Spanish giants last year, oversaw his new team concede in the 79th minute when some individual skill from Danilo resulted in the winning goal.

Bayern were comfortable on the ball in the first half, and they came close to breaking the deadlock five minutes before the half-hour mark when David Alaba smashed a shot onto the post from a free kick.

The Bundesliga giants continued their dominance, but an opportunity from Julian Green was squandered when he failed to get a strike on target after breaking away from two defenders.

Thiago Alcantara was next up to test goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, but the Madrid shot-stopper was able to get a hand on the ball and push it behind.

The Champions League winners struggled to find a way through a packed Bayern half, which forced them to take long-range shots, but the Germans were relatively untroubled heading into the half-time break.

The shape of the game changed in the second half, with Zinedine Zidane's side having more possession and they almost took the lead through Alvaro Morata, who broke away before trying to curl the ball into the net, but it drifted wide.

Isco had a chance of his own with a shot that hit the post, but the breakthrough was made by Danilo, who cut through two defenders before firing the ball past the keeper.
