Rudi Garcia: "The title race is over"

Roma manager Rudi Garcia admits that his side's chances of winning the title this season are over.

Roma manager Rudi Garcia has admitted that his side's chances of winning the title this season are over.

The Giallorossi are eight points behind league leaders Juventus in the Serie A table, but should the Old Lady beat Atalanta on Monday evening, then they will be crowded champions.

"The title race is over now, I don't expect any late surprises," he told the club's official website. "The result of our game won't alter the outcome of the league but we'll go to Catania to win.

"We want to play well and put in 100%, I'm totally motivated, I want us to make it 10 straight wins although we know it's going to be tough. My guys are hungry and they want to keep winning. This is where the professional comes to the fore, when there's nothing left to play for.

"In any case, I'd like to congratulate Juventus, a great club with great players. If they've had such a record season it's thanks to us. And if we did so well it's also thanks to them because we've tried to keep up with them."

Roma's tally of 85 points in the league this season is a new record for the club.
