Steffan Freund "really happy" with Tottenham Hotspur progress

Assistant coach Steffan Freund is glad that Spurs came through their Capital One Cup third-round tie against League One Carlisle on Wednesday night.

Assistant coach Steffan Freund has admitted that Carlisle United made it tough for Tottenham Hotspur during Wednesday's 3-0 win in the Capital One Cup.

Goals from Jan Vertonghen, Andros Townsend and Gylfi Sigurdsson eventually helped the Premier League side come through their third-round tie against the League One side.

"It wasn't easy in the first half," said Freund. "Carlisle played very well, but we created chances and deserved to win the game. I'm really happy because we played well and kept a clean sheet."

Next up for Spurs in the competition is a trip to Norwich City.
