Darren Anderton: Tottenham Hotspur "getting there" under Mauricio Pochettino

Darren Anderton tells Sports Mole that Tottenham Hotspur are beginning to adapt to the playing style of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Darren Anderton believes that the current squad have started to adapt to the demands of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine, who took charge of Spurs in the summer, oversaw two victories at the start of the season, but that was followed by a run of just three wins in nine Premier League outings.

However, having picked up 20 points from the last 27 available since early December and reached the final of the League Cup, former Spurs midfielder Anderton has seen signs that Pochettino's preferred playing style is now being implemented on the pitch.

"The players struggled to adapt to the way that he wants them to play earlier in the season, but it certainly looks like that they're getting there now," he told Sports Mole.

"The performance against Chelsea (a 5-3 win) was the performance of the season and it's consistency that Spurs need - they're getting there.

"They're in a cup final and are pushing for a Champions League spot. Performances at times have been a little disappointing, but overall in early February, to be in the position that they are in is good going."

Ahead of today's North London derby, Spurs are sixth in the Premier League, two points adrift of rivals Arsenal.
