Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reserves special praise for Kevin De Bruyne's contributions both on and off the ball following his side's 4-1 win over Tottenham.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said that he is happiest with his side's performances off the ball following their 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur this evening.

City produced yet another virtuoso display at the Etihad Stadium to brush aside Mauricio Pochettino's side and record a 16th consecutive Premier League win, extending their lead over the chasing pack to 14 points.

A third Premier League title seems inevitable even before Christmas, and Guardiola reserved special praise for the workrate of man-of-the-match Kevin De Bruyne after his side's latest triumph.

"It was solid, good, against one team demanding to be intense without the ball. They have good quality, but we played really good to beat one of the strongest teams in the Premier League," he told BT Sport.

"Without the ball we are a humble team. The performance of Kevin De Bruyne, you cannot imagine how good he plays with the ball, but he runs like a player in the Conference league - it is easier for the manager and the club.

"Since August we are so happy and I admire the most the way we play without the ball - thank you to the club to provide me with these amazing players. We are on a good streak, but in three days we have another one."

Man City return to action again on Tuesday night when they take on Leicester City in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.
